We look forward to welcoming you to NHS Quest’s ‘Quality Improvement for Leaders’ webinar session with David Fillingham CBE, Former Chief Executive of the Advancing Quality Alliance (aqua) on Thursday 25th February 2021. This is part of a series of short webinars from prominent QI leaders from across the NHS and beyond.

About the session
David Fillingham is delivering a session for NHS Quest around the challenges facing the QI leader. He will share his experiences and insight coupled with approaches to help attendees unpick leadership issues. During the session, David will invite the group to consider their personal leadership challenges and suggest how some key questions can help tackle these issues.

Background

David Fillingham CBE

David Fillingham CBE, is the former Chief Executive of quality improvement organisation, the Advancing Quality Alliance (aqua). He was appointed to the role in 2010 before retiring in the summer of 2019.

David joined the NHS in 1989 from a career in manufacturing. He went on to take a number of Chief Executive posts including Wirral FHSA, St Helens and Knowsley Health Authority, North Staffordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, and Royal Bolton Hospitals NHS FT. From 2001 to 2004 David was Director of the NHS Modernisation Agency developing new ways of working and promoting leadership development across the NHS as a whole. He was awarded the CBE for this work.

He has lectured internationally on the topic of quality improvement and leadership development and has written a number of publications.
