Improvement Science for Leaders (IS4L) is a programme that develops leadership through improvement science. Our innovative IS4L programme bridges the gap between leadership, teamwork, and quality improvement. Working on a project, participants will apply influence and engagement skills, with the theoretical insight and practical application of QI methodologies to develop as a QI leader.

IS4L is a 10 month team based training programme in improvement science. Clinically led teams take challenges and issues from care settings, whether it be the direct provision of care or the management of services, and apply a tried and tested approach using improvement science to innovate, test and solve problems in order to improve outcomes for patients.

IS4L includes assisted learning, improvement coaching and networking, using The Hub, our Virtual Learning Environment.

Participants will have access to experts in the field of improvement, leadership and an opportunity to learn and share with like-minded colleagues.

This programme is unique in inviting system leaders and up to 7 colleagues from their specialty area to work together on an improvement challenge.

As part of the NHS Quest membership, member organisations are sponsored to join this HSJ award-nominated training programme.

This programme is for NHS Quest members only. If you are interested in joining programme and are not a member please contact nhs.quest@nhs.net for details of programme participation costs.
