Our Response to COVID-19


The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has seen unprecedented times for Health and Social Care services. We know the rapidly changing situation has brought increased pressure, change and extraordinary challenges for everyone.

Like many, the NHS Quest team have rapidly been working on a number of ways to be responsive to our network and the wider NHS at this critical time. We are committed to providing active and valuable support for you, and want to share an update on the work we have been doing.

Programme postponement

All of our scheduled network programmes and events have been postponed, with future dates to be confirmed in due course. This was not a decision we took lightly, however, it ensured we were able to reduce any immediate and additional demand on our network colleagues and we hope that supported you to react quickly to the COVID-19 situation.

Our team are currently revising our network offers for Quest, to ensure we can add the most value during the crisis and to support the recovery phase. We are particularly focused on how we can convene our Quest members to share good practice, learn quickly, and rapidly embed innovation.

COVID-19 Secondments

We are actively supporting the NHS during the crisis with secondments from within our internal teams across the NHS. These include:

  • Working with NHS England on their national Covid-19 Behaviour Change Unit
  • Support to Acute providers including
    • Communications Teams
  • Clinical roles for those staff still registered or requesting re-registration
  • Support across workforce and OD including staff wellbeing, engagement and leadership offers.

Our programme lead, Andrea McGuinness is working directly within a COVID-19 Response Cell at NHS England and Improvement.

AQuA Knowledge Xchange 

In addition to providing direct support through secondments, our Quest team are collaborating with colleagues at AQuA to develop a number of practical, bite-sized resources for you and your teams to use. The free AQuA Knowledge Xchange curates the latest thinking and resources as they become available to help you during the crisis. These are based around the below themes:

  • Analytics & Business Intelligence
  • Communications & Engagement
  • Improvement
  • Leadership
  • Safety
  • Systems Working
  • Workforce Wellbeing

The team will continue to work on adding to these resources to support you and the NHS through this crisis and into the recovery stages.
